When a loved one passes away and leaves behind Triodos certificates, the process for transferring these certificates varies depending on whether the account was verified with Captin or not. Below are the steps for each situation:
1. If the deceased's account was NOT verified with Captin
In this case, the heir or executor should follow these steps:
- Step 1: Register as a new client with Captin by filling in the registration form at https://onboarding.captin.com/register.
- Step 2: Complete the identification and verification process. This is necessary to be accepted as a client by Captin.
- Step 3: Once verification is complete, the heir should provide the new account number to Triodos.
- Step 4: Triodos will then request some additional documents. These documents must be submitted to Triodos to proceed with the process.
- Step 5: After receiving and reviewing the documents, Triodos will instruct Captin to transfer the certificates to the new account.
2. If the deceased's account WAS verified with Captin
If the account was already verified, the heir or executor must still follow these steps:
- Step 1: The heir or executor must create their own account with Captin. This can be done by registering via https://onboarding.captin.com/register and completing the verification process.
- Step 2: After the new account is created and verified, the heir must send the necessary documents to triodos@captin.nl. These documents are required to complete the transfer of the certificates.
- Step 3: Once Captin has received and verified the documents, the transfer of the certificates to the heir’s new account will be processed.
